Instructions-Expectations-Duties-Responsibilities

Ouch!  And Yikes!  Are you recovered from last week?  I’m still in shock.  What a list.  Are you like that?  As I read down through the list of what I’m supposed to be like I see that I have a little work to do in a few areas.  I have made improvement in some areas over the years.  For example, I used to be conceited but now I’m a pretty nice guy.  But then there are some things I really struggle with.  How about you?

Now for some nitty-gritty (or however you spell that).  Typical secular job descriptions call these duties and responsibilities.  What does the job actually entail?  The definitions you looked up back in the beginning gave you some hints and I think it’s interesting that the Bible provides some very “complimentary” input to this question.  But because of our rebirth and who we are now, we have entered a different realm.  And because of the realm we are now in, there are some added duties and responsibilities that won’t be found in any secular job description.

Take a look at these passages and see if you can identify these new/added responsibilities.  What’s expected of us that isn’t expected of those who have been born only once?

What instructions and expectations does the Bible detail for stewards/servants/slaves (us) ?  As stewards/servants/slaves, what does the Bible tell us about our duties and responsibilities?
