I wanted to be rich and famous. Well, I started my career washing dishes in a country club kitchen. I flunked out of college three times. I never finished the dissertation for my PhD. I chose the wrong profession in the wrong industry. I took very early involuntary retirement. Took a job with a very unethical company and for the first time in my life I quit a job. I have two kinds of cancer. I’m getting really old and crotchety and am having a hard time remembering just about everything.
About half way through my life to date I found a really great scripture passage in our operator’s manual. I added it to my memory pack of 3×5 cards. It has given me perspective and peace about my life. Really good advice.
I Thes 4:11-12 Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life and attend to your own business and work with your hands, so that you may behave properly toward outsiders and not be in any need.
