I know what you are thinking. It’s better to give than receive. That sounds good but there is one gift you can’t give and you definitely want to receive. The Bible tells us what it is, Eph 2:8-9.
“8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the GIFT of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
But why does God want to give us this gift?
The next verse tells why?
Eph 8:10.
“10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
There is a sizable number of people, however, who believe it’s the other way around. That is, that salvation is dependent on our good works. There are a lot of problems with that belief but the main one is that the Bible says NO, not true.
