Page 30. Your thought life…

This is where it’s at, as they say.  At least, I know it’s true for me.  My sin is not manifested in action.  I’m not a murderer but I have some thoughts about certain people that the Lord would question.  I haven’t stolen any money but I have some covetous thought from time to time that I can’t afford.  I could go on but you’re probably not interested in my “true confessions”.

A few pages ago we looked at anxiety and were commanded by Paul to “be anxious for nothing”.  The following verse (Phil 4:8) is the answer/solution to our “wild/sinful” thought life.

Phil 4:8  Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things.

Since I tend to be a negative/critical person, my mind doesn’t always go this way.  I am glad however, when I come to this in my 3×5 memory card pack and can take time to meditate on it.
